Hi guys, welcome to the monthly newsletter where we let you know what’s been happening and what you can look forward to over the coming weeks. Let’s get straight into it…

Salvatore Pace BJJ Seminar

We’re very fortunate this month to have Professor Salvatore Pace joining us to teach a seminar. This will focus on the Omoplata – a very cool shoulder lock that can be achieved from many different angles and positions. Professor Salva has promised to share some secret variations of this move that he learnt from The King of The Omoplata – Nino Schembri. There will also be a grading as part of this seminar; so don’t miss out!

Salvo’s achievements:

World Cup Champion (2006 blue)
Grapplers Quest Champion – Las Vegas (2010)
2x British Champion (2005 blue, weight & absolute)
Naga Europe Champion (2010 Masters Gi)
Naga Europe Bronze Medallist (2010 Masters Nogi Advanced)
The seminar will be held on Monday 10th April 2017 from 7:00-9:30pm (ie instead of ‘regular’ classes).

If you haven’t booked yet, there are still some places available. Contact me directly to book your place or to send any questions you may have.

That’s right! As well as being able to get your BJJ fix on Monday mornings, Monday evenings, Wednesday mornings, Wednesday evenings AND Saturday mornings, we have just launched ANOTHER new class on Tuesday evenings!

This will be held every week at Yeovil College Sports Hall from 8pm – 9:30pm.

It will be a NoGi / Submission Wrestling class, so if you don’t have a gi – that’s no problem! Just turn up in some shorts and a t-shirt and we’ll take care of you. As usual, we’re offering up to ten new students ‘Two Weeks FREE Jiu-Jitsu Training’ Just click the link to claim yours (or, send it to someone you know will benefit from training Jiu Jitsu)

This means you can now train a MASSIVE 9.5 hours of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu / nogi / submission grappling per week in Yeovil and become an absolute beast on the mats!

Its great to be able to announce that, as well as our seminar with Professor Salva, we have also booked a seminar with Dan Strauss.

Dan has won many, many competitions, competed at international events such as the Eddie Bravo Invitational and the Polaris Open not to mention being a competitor on the TV show Ninja Warrior UK and host of his own podcast The Raspberry Ape Podcast.

This seminar won’t be until September so you’ve got plenty of time to get booked up for it!

Thank you this month to Christina who has been busy organising social events for the Gracie Barra Yeovil students. This month she organised an Airhop Trip and meal out.

If you’re looking to make friends and socialise in a healthy atmosphere (or know someone is) why not get in touch?

Well done to everyone who took selfies at gym this month as part of our WIN YOUR-SELFIE A RASHGUARD competition. There were some great entries and things like this really help to raise the profile of the club on social media.

But the winner of the rashguard is (drumroll….)

Congratulations to him and well done to everyone who entered.

Well, that’s it for this month! I can’t wait to see you all at the Salva seminar for some omoplata secrets!

See you all on the mats in April!
